At Acharya group companies, sustainability lies at the heart of everything we do. As a API, Specialty and Agro intermediates manufacturing company, we recognize the critical role we play in preserving the environment and fostering a more sustainable future. All plants are equipped with in-house primary effluent treatment facilities. Plants are connected to high efficiency scrubbing systems and gas monitoring systems wherever required, which control quality of gas emission very consistently and effectively.
Our Approach to Sustainability:
Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) System: We take pride in our advanced DCS controlled ZLD system at our specialty chemicals manufacturing site. Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE), Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) and Reverse Osmosis system enables us to achieve - zero liquid waste discharge. The nature of our manufacturing plant being a contract and multi product based business model, we believe in investing in robust materials and technologies. Thus the MOC of our MEE calendria tubes selected has been of titanium. This enables to handle harsh effluents. By recycling and treating nearly all our wastewater, we significantly reduce the strain on local water resources and contribute to water conservation.
Biomass Briquettes for steam Boilers:
As part of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions, we have adopted the use of bio briquettes in our boilers at our specialty chemicals manufacturing site. Bio briquettes are a sustainable and renewable energy source made from organic materials. By utilizing biomass briquettes, we not only lower our carbon footprint but also support the circular economy by promoting the use of environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional fossil fuels.
In the year 2022-2023, we proudly planted over 250 trees as part of our afforestation drive. Our commitment to afforestation is an ongoing endeavor, and we are dedicated to continuing such initiatives to make a positive impact on the environment.
We believe that "Prevention is better than cure" and therefore are always developing technologies to reduce the waste generated than treating the waste. Our team closely monitors the waste generated by the on-going processes of the plant and explores avenues to reducing them. This has two pronged effect of waste minimization and cost cutting which is in line with our quality policy.
